Analysis FIVE
Software Achieving an Advanced Analysis of Various Microscopy Images
With reinforced software functions, the user can process, measure, and analyze microscopy images and then create reports in a seamless manner.

Enhanced Basic Functions for Measurement and Other Operations
Camera Control/Microscope Control
This software can control a digital camera and a microscope* from a personal computer. A series of work from observation to report creation can be completed through operations on the personal computer. * The software is only compatible with Olympus digital cameras and microscopes. Controllable functions differ depending on the model. Contact Olympus for the model applicable for your desired functions.

Measurement
The software allows you to easily perform count and measurement of point-to-point distance, area, etc. manually. It can also perform statistical processing automatically for every measurement. Measurement results and statistical processing results can be stored along with observation images, and can also be outputted.

Database
The hierarchically organized database screen can make a database of data sheets and graphs of analysis results along with acquired images systematically, allowing you to make flexible use of the database. This screen enables easy grasp of the whole data and quick access to necessary data with the search function.

Report Function
This function allows you to change layout and edit an image freely on a report, achieving creation of an easy-to-view, professional-looking report. In addition to the standard-setting format, your original format can easily be created.

Particle Analysis
The software enables auto-separation of particles with the separator function, setting of threshold values, and setting of a detection range with ROI. This function has achieved whole particle measurement using various particle measurement parameters and advanced particle analysis through statistical data processing.

Image Merging
This function merges multiple sheets of adjacent images into one sheet of nearly seamless and natural image. With this function you can easily observe a wide range of specimen that cannot be observed with a microscope at a time.

Extended Focusing Function
This function merges multiple images which come into focus at different positions to construct an image with all those positions in focus. This function has achieved clear observation of one image for a multiple-stepped specimen that cannot be observed with a normal microscope at a time.

3-D Composite Image
A realistic-looking three-dimensional image can be created by merging omnifocal images obtained with the extended focusing function. You can perform zooming in or out, movement, and rotation of a 3-D image at will and visually grasp the whole image of a specimen.

Optional Functions to Meet Individual Client Needs
Grain Sizing (Intercept Method)
Grain sizing is evaluated using the intercept method that obtains the number of points of intersection between a test line and a crystal grain boundary. A test line is selectable from among horizontal, vertical, diagonal (cross) line segments, and circular and combined diagonal (cross) lines. A numerical grain size is determined by the average length of intercepts. This function can detect crystal grain boundaries properly even if there is a variation in density among those boundaries. Also, any crystal grain boundary can be detected even if each crystal grain has different brightness.

Grain Sizing (Planimetric Method)
This method evaluates grain sizing from a metallic structure within a specified area. For planimetry of grain size, crystal grain boundaries must be continuous. To ensure the continuity of boundaries, the planimetric method includes a sophisticated algorithm for reconstruction of broken grain boundaries. This method allows the user to obtain organization structure (e.g. dual-mode distribution, sandwich layers), degree of extension, and histogram view of grain size distributions in addition to numerical grain size as an analysis result.

Cast Iron Analysis
Each graphite image is manually or automatically detected to measure its shape and size. Also, shape and size distributions can be obtained as analysis results. The classification of shapes is compatible with various national and international standards such as JIS, ISO, and ASTEM.
