The Gold Standard for Lung Cancer Staging 1

Endobronchial ultrasound transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a reliable and commonly established technique that enables the visualisation and sampling of mediastinal, central, or hilar lesions and lymph nodes within the tracheobronchial tree.
With the ultrasonic bronchoscope BF-UC180F inserted into the trachea or the oesophagus, the accessible lymph node stations can be explored and the lesions outlined, while offering you the freedom to select from different EBUS needle line ups and sizes depending on your needs.

Using Enhanced Ultrasound Imaging Technologies

The linear ultrasound bronchoscope BF-UC180F is especially designed for lymph node staging, including interlobar nodes, hilar nodes, and the mediastinum.

The large 2.2 mm working channel offers you the freedom to select from EndoTherapy devices like the dedicated 22G, 21G, or 19G EBUS-TBNA needles.

A Comprehensive Needle Range

Olympus offers a 25G and 19G EBUS-TBNA needle in addition to the 21G and 22G needles in its ViziShot 2 range. While the entire portfolio offers excellent ultrasound visibility, Olympus provides a comprehensive needle range – expanding your possibilities in EBUS-TBNA.

ViziShot 2 FLEX 19G – Advancing Histology Sampling in EBUS-TBNA

Improved sample size for enhanced diagnostic capabilities and targeted lung cancer therapy.

Key Evidence and Benefits:

  • Improving tissue quantity 2,3 – Getting the right diagnosis 4
  • High needle flexibility – Easy access to challenging lymph nodes and stations 4
  • Puncture with confidence – Clear ultrasound visibility and high user satisfaction 5

The Olympus EBUS Solution – Supporting Reliable Staging and High Yield

EBUS-TBNA has proven to be of great value not only for lymph node staging (N-staging) but also for the strategic use of cytology and histology samples for molecular analysis. The acquired specimen can be used to obtain a reliable diagnosis as well as for cell-block preparation, immunochemistry, and molecular studies.
